The Philippine men’s national basketball team showed flashes of brilliance but ultimately bowed to visiting Jordan, 98-92, in a tune-up game Monday night at Meralco Gym.

Zaid Abbas nailed the big shots down the stretch as Jordan pulled away from the Philippines in a closely contested game.

This marks the first tune-up for Gilas Pilipinas in their preparation for the upcoming window of the FIBA World Cup Asian qualifiers.

Christian Standhardinger led the Philippines with 21 points, while Marcio Lassiter added 14 markers.

Abbas had 24 points. (More details to follow.)
